While people all over and around you propaganda the “positive vibes only” with placards, phone wallpapers, tattoos and whatnot, you hope that it will rub a little on you, but well hope is a fickle thing, innit? Having said that why do people need reassurances that everything around them should be positive? Can a negative vibe kill their morale? How broken they have to be to be affected by a single negative vibe that their beautiful life could get ruined.
Here’s a pointer for the “positive-vibes-people” out there and their perfect little, umm…big lives: Don’t let someone’s negative vibe slow you down. Let your so-called positivity (positive vibes / approach, whatever it is that you prefer to call it) outshine so bright that they wonder how wrong they have been and take the same jacket that you are wearing, that “positive vibes only” jacket and maybe it will turn out for the better. And then maybe, you not only have a great day, but someone else will also have a much better day. Imagine that.
I remember this one time, a honorable gentleman decided to take it upon himself to let me know that he is doing a “positive” thing by unfollowing me on Twitter because I was being negative. I don’t have an explanation for that because I am rarely active on Twitter and even if I am, I am cracking jokes at myself. And I don’t know where this gentleman got the idea that I was spreading so much negativity that his life, let me rephrase, his perfect life is getting so much ruined. That one tweet (I wonder which one) brought such a dark cloud on his head that he had to reassure himself of the company he is having on the social media. I don’t have a problem with that, with unfollowing. I have a problem with making a big deal of it. Just unfollow if you are so bright and sunny life is getting hindered by someone across on the social media. Basically, it is about how you handle things, isn’t it? There are ways in which the things can be handled differently and there’s a right way, and there’s a wrong way. The way this gentleman did, didn’t have any positive impact on me, and as a matter of fact, it had a negative one, on him, on the whole approach.
You can’t make the whole world brighter by brightening up just your life, you will just end up catching fire.

This is because they are damn sacred of reality and it is better to pretend than to face the unhappiness.
You summed it up pretty well.
That’s true as well. And I guess most of us are doing just that. 🙁
