Chapter XXX
The Request: The Lunch Box Journal
______
Story so far: The cold shoulder was still a bit cold while Sameer tried to resolve it amidst his travels. Meanwhile, Gautham got his Visa to travel and awaiting travel orders and Neil in in between marriage proposals.
While Akhil’s fascination was increasing too fast as he has been watching Srestha way too often in the office. Earlier, she used to come in Aryan’s bus but now that she had gotten herself a new bike, she is going all on her own. Akhil seemed to be talking a lot about Srestha with Likitha. In one of such encounters when Akhil was talking about her and checking her Facebook profile, Likitha took it upon herself to do the honors and sent the request to her. Akhil being very conscious of that didn’t cancel the request because in a way it was what he had wanted all along and crossed his fingers hoping that she would accept the request.
While it might seem like that Likitha was pissed off at Akhil mentioning of her and settle this once and for all, there seems to an ulterior motive all along. Srestha was supposedly a very far away distant relative and she had seen her in one of the family functions. She was with another guy who was a relative of Srestha and she somehow felt that this guy relative was following her around and might have an interest in her. And after a couple of years later, she wanted to pursue that angle by sending a friend request to her and slowly getting his information from her which seemed to the Akhil’s job. Some might argue that she did all this to make Akhil jealous, but Akhil seemed to be pretty cool with the Likitha’s move.
As luck may have it, well Akhil had Likitha (aka Lucky) with him, this wasn’t that big of a surprise when Srestha had accepted the friend request. Because lucky, of course. Apparently, she knew that Akhil had a liking towards her and was waiting for him to make a move, and when he finally did she responded back by accepting the request immediately. Perhaps, she had anticipated this move a while back, but Akhil seemed to be a bit too shy to make the move. Though he had the help of his friends who pushed him to finally make the much-anticipated move, some of whom even volunteered to do the honors but they knew Akhil would get all grumpy if someone did anything like that. A similar thing happened a while back when he realized that someone had liked Srestha’s old photos on Facebook. There was no end of him bitching about it.
Meanwhile, Neil’s family was on full on searching mode and meeting new potential brides and Gautham’s side seemed like they put the word out which meant that it was still in the initial stages. Aryan was busy swiping right hoping to find a match while cursing at the app for falsely showing a match. What he didn’t realize was that the person accidentally swiped right and hence they had to select unmatch immediately before Aryan could get the wind of it. It was the most likely possibility there. And Sameer was traveling back and forth to his hometown to catch up with his new-born daughter. Madhav was still attending the customary family meetings over the weekends while Akhil was sitting on the first floor of the canteen rather than the easier ground floor one, so that no one of the other guys would know who he had as his company.

The part for Aryan is a bit short, but it’s a cute scenario.
Aryan is mostly the silent spectator. His involvement in the group is still a mystery.
He’s always been a mystery.
Yup, he is. 😛
That’s probably what makes him interesting.
